Accompaniment
A collection of accompaniment pieces performed for solo piano.
Here you can find a series of videos I have recorded for my YouTube channel in order to help classical vocalists practice some popular repertoire. Using my training as a classical pianist, I’ve compiled a few piano accompaniment pieces I’ve played throughout the years in order to give vocalists something to practice to as well as draw attention to often forgotten accompaniment parts of some famous pieces.
Dance Work

Starting in 2016, I began working as a piano accompanist for dance classes around Toronto, work I still enjoy today. In this role, I provide musical accompaniment on the piano for a wide variety of studio classes. This can also sometimes involve selecting and playing appropriate music (specific pieces or improvised), as specified by the course director. Classes can vary from a more structured ballet class accompanied with traditional ballet repertoire to free modern dance technique with heavy emphasis on improvisation and interpretation of movement with music.
The contemporary dance classes I have accompanied have all involved a great deal of exercises with unset music for the students to explore a variety of types of movements. As a musician, this means the course director would expect me to be able to take in as much information about the movement being explored as possible and be able to play music that both has the appropriate time signature and tempo and supports the type of movement being displayed.
